Details of upcoming auditions will be posted on our Auditions page. You can also join our mailing list to be notified of auditions.
Generally, the minimum age for the family show (February) is 10. We expect at this age, actors can participate without parental supervision.
Just let us know! There are lots of tasks involved in putting a show together. See our Get Involved page.
All volunteers can participate at no cost. We do not charge a membership fee. Those interested in acting in a show must audition and only those selected will be able to perform in that show. There are lots of other ways to participate and learn.
Yes! All jobs at our theatre are volunteer, so all jobs qualify for volunteer hours, even acting! We recognize the amount of work that goes into all positions and encourage high school students to try areas that interest them. You can earn 3 hours for being an usher at one performance or more than 100 hours for being an actor in a show, and many other options in between. Many high school volunteers enjoy their experience so much they keep coming back to learn more. Some have earned more than 1000 hours!
The rehearsal period for a spring or fall show is usually 8 weeks of 3 rehearsals per week. The family show in the winter is usually 12-14 weeks, since there is singing and choreography to learn. All other aspects of the show are prepared at the same time, including building and decorating the set, finding/making prop and costumes, designing the lighting, sound and video, etc.
Yes! We sell snacks and drinks at our concession before the show and at intermission. Please be advised that only water can be consumed in the theatre itself.
On Friday nights, we offer small meals before the show, also available at our concession.
Yes! On Saturdays in the spring and fall, we offer an optional dinner with your theatre ticket (not available at the family show in February). Simply add this option to your ticket when purchasing online or mention it to the box office when emailing or calling. Menus and pricing are available on the ticketing site.
Please don't. The show is protected by Canadian copyright laws so no filming or photography is allowed. Besides, it disturbs your fellow audience members if you are using your phone. If you would like to take a picture of the set before or after the show, please go ahead. You can also take photos of yourself or your children with our cast members after our family show in February. You can also get their autographs!
Actually no. Even though the term "Little Theatre" sounds like all of our shows are for children, they are not. "Little Theatre" means a small community-based theatre, that uses amateur actors and volunteers. Our family show in February is suitable for all ages. Shows in the spring and fall are designed more for adult audiences and occasionally have adult themes that are not suitable for small children.
